Core curriculum of the school question?

Can anyone recommend a good home school curriculum for preschool-grade 5? I'm totally new in this and have been searching the Internet, but all I seem able to find online is "academies" that offer to educate children through a virtual classroom (for the price of a couple thousand dollars). I want to participate and actually teach my children, not just dropped into the computer. (I think I'm confused because I see no difference between that and just send them to public school). Anyway, any suggestions for a curriculum that uses textbooks, brochures, books, etc.?

There are plenty curriculum of textbooks that are large. Sonlight Preschool really like.
