Parents of school children: Do your kids bring home?
textbooks as we did when we were in school? Last night, I had my year "meet The Teacher" night (sixth grade) and realized the textbooks are in each class on every desktop, but never took home. Basically all supplies are left in each class for the student who comes, nothing is checked out, so no one "forgets" their books or materials. I think his genius. There are no books heavy to carry around, and the money that schools are the savings can go to other things as increases for teachers and computers for classrooms. Why was not this done long ago?? I think the only drawback is when my son asks me sixth homework help 6th grade. Its been a while since I studied geography.Suddenly I'm not as smart as I think I am. They now use spiral notebooks and worksheets in place.
I think I prefer they have the book, especially if I need help because it has been a looooong time since the 8th grade. Our school book also has problems (the school should be more accessible books?) And when I do not like to share books because if lost or damaged there is a lot of accusations about responsibility and sometimes the child has to do without a book until another is found in place. Some of the texts are so outdated.
